Our Curriculum

At Polaris School, We offers classes and activities for children 2 months-old and above.

Crèche (2-12 months)

Academic:

    • Sensory and motor development activities (textures, sounds, lights)
    • Basic language skills through songs and simple stories.
    • Recognition of basic patterns and colors.

Non-Academic:

    • Tummy time for physical development.
    • Social interaction through play.
    • Introduction to music and soft rhythm.
    • Basic movement to music (baby dance)

1-2 Years Class

Academic:

    • Language skills development (simple words, animal sounds, basic sentences) 
    • Basic counting and number recognition. 
    • Introduction to shapes and colors.
    • Simple ICT interactions (touchscreen games/apps for toddlers)

Non-Academic:

    • Fine motor skills (stacking blocks, simple puzzles)
    • Group play to develop social skills.
    • Creative activities like finger painting.
    • Basic dance movements.

3-4 Years Class

Academic:

    • Letter recognition and beginning phonics.
    • Counting and simple math concepts (like sorting and patterns)
    • Introduction to basic science concepts (plants, animals, weather)
    • Basic ICT skills (using educational software) 
    • Introduction to French (basic vocabulary through songs and games)

Non-Academic:

    • Role-playing and imaginative play.
    • Arts and crafts to enhance creativity.
    • Basic physical education activities (jumping, running, coordination games) 
    • Beginner’s Taekwondo (focus on discipline and basic movements) 
    • Dance classes (more structured)

4-5 Years Class

Academic:

    • Reading readiness (sight words, simple books) 
    • Basic addition and subtraction.
    • Exploring more complex science concepts (life cycles, simple experiments) 
    • Developing ICT skills (typing, using educational programs) 
    • Continuing French education (simple conversations, cultural elements)

Non-Academic:

    • Advanced arts and crafts (more complex projects) 
    • Group games to encourage teamwork and leadership skills.
    • Cultural activities incorporating elements from both American and Nigerian traditions.
    • Advanced Taekwondo (introduction to forms and etiquette) 
    • Structured dance classes (introduction to different dance styles)

Primary School

Basic 1-5

We provide a warm and nurturing environment that encourages learning and development, with a focus on literacy, numeracy, and social and emotional development. We have a strong emphasis on play-based learning, and our dedicated teachers work hard to create a stimulating and engaging learning environment.

This curriculum aims to balance cognitive development with physical, social, and creative growth, incorporating the strengths of both American and Nigerian educational systems.
